Elly is the Director of Brand Leadership and supports all corporate social media and communications programs, demonstrating effective leadership over social, digital, and traditional marketing platforms. With a proven background in business journalism, Elly is experienced in breaking down complex ideas and communicating them in a compelling, engaging way that grabs people’s attention. Her journalism skills allow her to seamlessly support the operations side of HCS due to her intellectual curiosity, thoughtful questioning, her appetite for thorough and unbiased research, attention to specificity, granularity, and imperative details.
Elly launched her career in NYC working for CNBC in the cable business news channel’s highly competitive rotating News Associates Program. She not only produced segments for CNBC’s Closing Bell, the show that revolves around the most important hour of the trading day, but she also led and supported real-time financial market coverage and breaking business news for both dotcom and the assignment desk. Elly later served as a multimedia journalist for WECT News, the NBC-affiliated television station in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she would pitch, write, shoot, and edit top news stories and enterprise pieces.
Elly is a Wilmington native and holds a bachelor’s degree in business journalism from Washington and Lee University.
